NOTICE: York County Burn Ban
York County Commissioners have announced a countywide burn ban (effective 10/30/24) as a response to low stream and water levels and dry conditions. The ban is a temporary 30-day restriction on open fires and supersedes any municipal ordinance to the contrary.
Open burning consists of the burning of any combustible materials including garbage, leaves, grass, twigs, paper and more in an outside fire pit or on the ground. Fireworks are banned unless approved through written authorization from the municipality in which the fireworks will be used. Fires in designated federal and state campgrounds are allowed as long as a protective ring surrounds the fire.
